Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Financial Controller for our client based in Glasgow. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a varied and hands-on finance role within a growing business, working closely with the Director.
Role Overview:
This permanent position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional looking to lead all aspects of the bookkeeping and accounting functions. From daily financial transactions to monthly management accounts, this role offers a great opportunity to play a pivotal part in business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing all bookkeeping duties including Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger
* Processing payroll for all staff
* Managing all CIS responsibilities including payments and reporting
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports
* Liaising with external parties including HMRC and accountants
* Supporting the Director with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
Skills & Experience:
* Strong experience in a similar Financial Controller or all-round bookkeeping role including preparation and submission of CIS and VAT returns
* Excellent knowledge of QuickBooks and SAGE (essential)
* Familiarity with PAYE Master is advantageous however training will be provided.
* High level of accuracy and ability to manage workload independently
* Strong communication and problem-solving skill
