Our client is a global leader in manufacturing systems and components for the commercial transportation industry. They are looking for a Financial Controller / Manager to join there team.
Purpose of Role:
Delivery of a customer focussed service, whilst meeting all Health & Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale targets. Provide reliable, timely and accurate information on the financial performance of the company and effectively manage the day-to-day business of the Finance Department.
The role plays a key part in shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy, supporting long-term business growth and sustainability. It also contributes to the development of a high-performing finance team by fostering collaboration, mentoring talent, and aligning departmental goals with broader organisational objectives.
To work proactively, driving best practice and a positive culture of problem solving, continuous improvement and task execution to drive the company forward.
Main duties and responsibilities:
•Production and submission of month end accounts for the UK and European business as defined by group timetable.
•Preparation of control of capital expenditure
•Preparation and submission of the Forecast, Annual Operating Plan and 5-year strategic plan in line with group timetables.
•Preparation and issue of the Annual Operating Pack
•Control of balance sheet – ensuring accurate recording of all assets and liabilities.
•Monthly reviews of Manufacturing overheads, ESMA and Balance sheets.
•Management of the internal and external audits and the group reporting associated with both.
•Provision of all information for the year-end statutory accounts and corporation tax computation and return.
•Preparation of draft year end statutory accounts.
•Management of the Finance function.
•Management of the Payroll process.
•Review of VAT returns
•Preparation of all elements of Standard Cost.
•Ensure compliance with legal requirements, taxation systems regulations.
•Represent the company on all matters concerning the Defined Benefit pension scheme
•Managing IT Department and ticket system
Performance Measures:
•Health & Safety: (Near miss Reporting)
•Cost: CAPEX, Costs Reduction Targets to facilitate margin improvement initiatives, Control of Operating costs, Inventory Control, Standard Costs interrogation, Waste cost, PPV
•Delivery: Contribution Margin Target, Ebit Target, Revenue Target, Capital Spend Target,
•People/HR: People (Development /Training Reds) IT Priority Tickets, ITAF Compliance
Person Specifiation:
Education and Training : Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
Experience : Manufacturing background
Experience of producing financial and year end statements and reporting to tight deadlines.
Demonstratable experience of People management and development.
Managing costing process.
Reviewing the products CM and providing opportunities for improvement

Hours of Work: 8:00 - 16.30 (Mon - Thurs)
8:00 - 13.30 (Fri)
The postholder must be flexible in their approach and willing to work reasonable hours as the business requires
