Finishing Site Manager
Our client is a growing main contractor operating across London on a range of new build and refurbishment schemes. Group turnover currently stands at over £150m (and growing fast), with a strong forward order book
The need now exists for a Finishing Site Manager to join the delivery team on a 350 until student accommodation scheme in Central London
This role will be specifically concerned with the Interior Fit Out package of works. Managing and driving subcontractors to help accelerate the completion of the scheme and client handover (due circa December)
The ideal Site Manager will have strong Interior Fit Out & Finishing experience gained on similar scale residential projects and with a recognised main contractor. Applicants should come from an interior finishing trade background (Carpentry / Joinery, Plastering, Tiling etc) and should hold a current CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid
Duties will include:
* Inspect everything like a detective with OCD – from skirting boards to door handles. If it’s scratched, dented, or slightly wonky, it’s your problem now.
* Snag like a pro – find all the little things that others “didn’t notice” and add them to your growing hit list.
* Wrangle trades – chase painters, tilers, joiners, and the guy who insists he’ll “be back tomorrow.” He won’t. You’ll call him… again.
* Manage snag lists like a ninja – prioritise, assign, and re-check 47 times until it’s perfect (or at least passes the eye test).
* Ensure FF&E is installed (and no, students don’t need luxury, just a desk that doesn’t wobble).
* Make the rooms liveable – like IKEA, but on a deadline, and with fewer Allen keys.
* Field complaints from everyone – trades, site manager, client, cleaners, the vending machine guy…
* Hand over with pride – walk the client through pristine rooms just before the first student moves in and “accidentally” rips the door off.
