Fire Alarm Engineer
Location: Kent
We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join a well-established and growing fire safety specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking to work in a field-based role with strong earning potential, fully funded training, and long-term career development.
The Role
As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems across a variety of premises. You will play a vital role in ensuring systems are fully operational and compliant with current safety regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems
* Conducting inspections, testing, and fault finding
* Diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently
* Responding to emergency call-outs, including out-of-hours support
* Managing daily schedules and planning service routes
* Maintaining accurate documentation and service records
* Managing stock, tools, and company vehicle
* Delivering high levels of customer service and maintaining client relationships
* Ensuring all work complies with industry standards and company procedures
Requirements
* Proven experience working with fire alarm systems
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Knowledge of fire safety standards and regulations (e.g. BS5839)
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Strong organisational and time management abilities
* Full UK driving licence
Certifications (Essential & Desirable):
* FIA / NICEIC / SSAIB / NVQ training (essential)
* ECS/CSCS card (advantageous)
* IPAF certification (advantageous)
* EAL Level 3 in BS5839 (Part 1 or 6) (advantageous)
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (advantageous)
* Inspection & Testing qualifications (advantageous)
