Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Engineer to join one of our clients. This role involves installing, testing, and commissioning fire alarm systems in line with technical designs and industry standards. You will also be responsible for routine maintenance, fault-finding, and helping to reduce false alarms. To succeed in this role, you will need a strong technical understanding of fire safety regulations and systems, the ability to meet project deadlines and budgets, and a commitment to delivering excellent service. Your work will be essential to ensuring compliance, system performance, and strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Key Responsibilities Install, test, and commission fire alarm systems according to technical designs and relevant standards. Carry out routine inspections and planned maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently. Troubleshoot and repair system faults, reducing false and unwanted alarms. Provide technical training and support to clients and team members. Ensure all work complies with fire safety codes and legal requirements. Manage project timelines and budgets effectively. Complete all relevant documentation and reports accurately and on time. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Support the wider business as required by the Senior Management Team. Qualifications and Skills Strong working knowledge of fire industry standards. Technical expertise in fire alarm and protection systems. Physically fit and capable of working at height. Solid understanding of health and safety practices (including risk assessments and method statements). Relevant electrical installation qualification or training. Experience with Honeywell, Siemens, and Hochiki systems is beneficial (training provided if needed). Experience A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the fire industry is preferred.
