Fire and Security Designer Opportunity
Salary: Up to £60,000
Holidays: 20.5 days rising to 23 days after one year, plus bank holidays
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days remote
About the Role
Join an exclusive fire and security consultancy as a Fire & Security Designer. You’ll lead project design while mentoring junior designers, ensuring high-quality technical drawings and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed fire alarm, access control, CCTV and intruder alarm system designs
* Manage and coach a team of junior designers, reviewing work and developing skills
* Liaise with project managers, clients and installers to refine specifications
* Ensure all designs meet British Standards (BS 5839, BS 7671, BS EN 50131, etc.)
* Maintain drawing registers and update CAD/BIM files accurately
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience designing fire and security systems for commercial or high-end residential projects
* Strong CAD/BIM skills (AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent)
* Solid understanding of British Standards and industry regulations
* Excellent mentoring and team-management abilities
* Effective communication skills for client presentations and technical clarification
* Certificate in Fire Systems Design or equivalent qualification
