Job Title: Fire Damper Engineer

Location: Walsall, West Midlands

Salary/Benefits: £26k - £37k + Training & Benefits

Our client is a well-known Building Services and Compliance specialist, who have a successful Fire Safety / Ventilation department. They are seeking an experienced Fire Damper Engineer in the Midlands. You will be working across commercial, manufacturing and industrial premises, surveying and testing existing dampers and completing subsequent remedial duties. Applicants will be expected to hit the ground running, so strong existing industry experience is required. Salaries on offer are competitive, and benefits include: company vehicle, overtime opportunities, pension scheme and annual leave allowance.

Experience / Qualifications:

  * Must have experience working as a Fire Damper Engineer

  * Will be qualified with the Fire Damper Testing ticket

  * Good working knowledge of BS9999 guidelines

  * Flexible to travel in line with client requirements

  * Good literacy and numeracy skill level

  * Proficient using IT software

The Role:

  * Undertaking surveys on existing fire dampers to log location and quantity

  * Performing testing on dampers to confirm functionality

  * Identifying any technical faults and making recommendations for any required remedial works

  * Carrying out remedial works, including: TEK screw removals, changing of collars and links

  * Fitting access panels

  * Interpreting schematics and technical drawings

  * Producing detailed technical reports

  * Working to agreed deadlines and set schedules

  * Representing the company in a professional manner
