Job Description
My client, a leading Fire Safety company, is looking for an experienced Fire Door Installer / Carpenter to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of fire doors to the highest standards, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation and manufacturer specifications.
Responsibilities:
• Install, repair and maintain fire doors and door sets in accordance with test evidence and manufacturer guidance
• Carry out surveys and inspections of existing doors to identify defects and required remedial works
• Ensure all fire stopping and compartmentation around doors and frames is completed to the correct standard
• Accurately measure, fit and finish all components including door leaves, frames, glazing, seals, hinges, closers and locks
• Maintain detailed records and provide reports, checklists and photographic evidence of works completed
• Liaise with clients, site managers and other contractors to coordinate works and ensure smooth delivery
• Follow all relevant health and safety procedures, maintaining safe working practices at all times
• Keep up to date with changes in regulations and industry best practice
Requirements:
• Proven experience in fire door installation and remedial works
• Carpentry qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent
• Strong understanding of passive fire protection and relevant fire door standards including BS 8214 and Building Regulations Approved Document B
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites
• High attention to detail and ability to deliver work to a consistently high standard
Desirable:
• Accreditation or training with a recognised scheme such as FIRAS, BM TRADA or FDIS
• CSCS card and asbestos awareness training
• Experience in fire stopping or compartmentation works
