Fire Door Surveyor
Location: Field-Based (UK)
Employment: Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week + Overtime Available

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Door Surveyor to join one of my clients — a rapidly growing compliance and safety specialist. The Role:
You will be responsible for carrying out fire door inspections, surveys, and validation works across a range of commercial and social housing properties. The role requires a strong understanding of fire safety compliance, passive fire protection, and site-based surveying/inspection standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct visual inspections and compliance surveys on fire doors
Support the fire safety team with passive and active fire installation projects
Carry out follow-up inspections to validate remedial actions from fire risk assessments
Produce technical reports, advice, and recommendations relating to fire doors and compartmentalisation
Maintain and update the fire door register and associated compliance documentation
Audit remedial works to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to regulations
Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to ensure all works meet compliance standards
Assist in prioritising fire door inspection and replacement programmes
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Previous experience inspecting fire doors or similar building surveying experience
Strong understanding of fire doors, fire stopping, and compartmentation principles
Good working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
Professional communication and client-facing skills
Full UK driving licence
Confident, proactive, and able to manage workload independently
Desirable:
FIRAS, BM TRADA or equivalent Fire Door Inspection qualification
SSSTS certification
Experience within social housing or compliance environments
Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
