A growing fire engineering consultancy is seeking a talented Fire Engineer to help deliver innovative fire safety strategies across a range of building projects.
This role would suit a motivated Fire Engineer who enjoys applying fire science to real design challenges while working alongside multidisciplinary project teams.
The successful Fire Engineer will support the development of fire strategies, helping ensure buildings comply with UK legislation, regulatory frameworks and recognised industry guidance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Fire Engineer who is working towards Chartered Engineer status, or is motivated to achieve chartership with strong professional support.
The Fire Engineer's Role
Applying fire science principles to live building projects through structured engineering processes including goal setting, hazard identification, building appraisal and fire scenario development
Supporting the development and implementation of fire strategies alongside design teams and project stakeholders
Considering the wider "total fire safety" approach from early client brief through design and construction stages
Identifying potential fire safety challenges throughout the project lifecycle and helping deliver practical design solutions
Investigating and applying appropriate UK legislation, guidance and fire safety standards within project work
Producing clear and well-structured technical reports to communicate fire strategy recommendations
Managing tasks across multiple projects while meeting programme deadlines and technical deliverables
Collaborating with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure compliant and effective fire safety designThe Fire Engineer
Degree qualified in Fire Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related discipline
Experience within a fire engineering consultancy or similar industry environment
Knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, design guidance and awareness of the evolving regulatory framework
Strong technical report writing and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple project demands
Proactive problem-solving skills and a solution-focused mindset
Working towards Chartered Engineer status, or highly motivated to achieve itIn Return?
