Job Description
To install, inspect, service, maintain, and repair portable fire extinguishers and associated fire safety equipment at customer premises, ensuring compliance with current fire safety legislation, British Standards, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
•Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers in accordance with BS 5306 standards.
•Install new fire extinguishers and associated fire safety equipment.
•Conduct site surveys and provide recommendations for fire protection requirements.
•Inspect fire safety signage and ensure correct placement and compliance.
•Diagnose faults and carry out repairs where appropriate.
•Complete service reports, inspection records, and certification accurately and promptly.
•Advise customers on the correct selection and use of fire extinguishers.
•Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures.
•Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order.
•Manage stock levels of extinguishers, spare parts, and consumables.
•Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive client relationships.
•Respond to emergency callouts when required.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
•Experience servicing and maintaining fire extinguishers.
•Knowledge of fire safety regulations and British Standards.
•Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Excellent communication and customer service skills.
•Full UK driving licence.
•Competent in completing paperwork and electronic service records.
Desirable
•BAFE Fire Extinguisher Technician qualification.
•FIA (Fire Industry Association) training or equivalent.
•Experience working within the fire and security industry.
•Knowledge of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
