Job Description
Fire Safety Surveyor – West London Rate: £35 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 6 Months
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role: We’re seeking an experienced Fire Safety Surveyor to join our team on a 6-month contract based in West London. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out fire safety inspections, surveys, and risk assessments across a range of residential and commercial properties, ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed fire safety surveys and inspections in accordance with relevant legislation and best practice.
Assess the adequacy of fire protection systems and construction details.
Produce clear, accurate reports and recommendations for remedial works.
Liaise with contractors, residents, and internal teams to ensure remedial actions are completed effectively.
Provide technical advice on fire safety design, materials, and building regulations.
Support the implementation of fire risk management policies and procedures.Requirements:
Proven experience as a Fire Safety Surveyor or Building Surveyor with fire compliance experience.
Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, Approved Document B, and Building Safety Act requirements.
Experience working within local authority, housing association, or similar public sector environments (desirable).
Relevant professional qualification (e.g. RICS, CABE, IFE, or equivalent).
Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
