Trust: East & North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust
Location: Lister Hospital (with occasional travel across multiple sites)
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:00, 3 days per week
Pay: Band 7, £24.82ph
East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Fire Safety Advisor to support the Trust’s Fire Safety function. This is a critical role that supports compliance and safety across all Trust premises, focusing on Fire Risk Assessments and regulatory adherence.
Duties include:
* Carry out Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) in line with the Trust’s rolling FRA programme.
* Produce clear and actionable improvement plans following each FRA.
* Support with relevant Fire Safety legislation, guidance, and Trust procedures.
* Provide fire safety advice in line with Fire code and NHS-specific fire safety standards
* Liaise with site teams and Estates personnel to ensure the implementation of fire safety measures
* Occasionally attend additional Trust sites as required
The skills required are:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fire safety, with demonstrable understanding of fire safety management in an acute healthcare setting.
* In-depth knowledge of fire legislation, guidance, and Fire code.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider Estates & Facilities team
* Strong communication and report-writing skills
* Desirable: Experience using BORIS fire safety software.
