Fire Safety Officer
Location: Cambridge
Hours: 24 hr per week
Salary: £16.97 - £21.66 DOE

Join a leading healthcare provider as a Fire Safety Officer, where your expertise will directly impact the safety and well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.
You’ll oversee risk-based inspections, ensure compliance with the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) 2005 and HTM 05-02, and provide technical guidance on capital projects and refurbishments.
Key responsibilities include:
* Deliver and develop the Trust-wide Risk-Based Inspection Programme
* Ensure fire risk assessments meet statutory requirements
* Monitor fire safety standards across Trust premises
* Provide building and engineering advice on capital projects
* Liaise with consultants and design teams on complex systems
* Ensure fire compartmentation and system drawings are up to date
* Raise and resolve issue reports from risk assessments
* Present fire safety reports to executives and stakeholders
* Liaise with Fire & Rescue Service Officers on inspections and investigations
* Manage fire alarm systems and ensure maintenance standards
* Develop fire protocols to improve patient and staff environments
* Research and apply new fire safety strategies
* Lead service improvements for quality and efficiency
* Act independently on strategic and operational decisions
* Oversee policies impacting Trust-wide operations
Candidate requirements:
* Proven experience in fire safety management within healthcare or complex estates
* Enhanced DBS within the last three years
* In-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation and technical guidance
* Strong leadership, organisational and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to interpret complex systems and deliver strategic improvements
* Excellent communication and report-writing abilities
* Relevant fire safety qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH Fire, Fire Risk Assessment Cert)
