Salary: £375 per day
Contract Type: 3 to 6 month ongoing contract

We’re hiring a Fire Safety Surveyor with strong local authority experience to help ensure the safety of our communities in South East London.
The Role: As a Fire Safety Surveyor, you’ll play a vital role in delivering fire risk assessments, inspections, and compliance strategies across a range of residential and commercial properties managed by the local authority. You’ll work closely with housing, compliance, and asset teams to uphold the highest standards of fire safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Fire Risk Assessments (Type 1–4) across the local authority’s housing stock.
Ensure full compliance with current fire safety legislation and best practice (e.g. Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Building Safety Act 2022).
Provide technical advice and reports to internal stakeholders on fire safety issues.
Liaise with contractors and oversee remedial works where fire risks are identified.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and evidence of inspections.
Support in developing fire safety policies and training programmes.Requirements:
Proven experience working as a Fire Safety Surveyor within a Local Authority or Housing Association.
In-depth knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulations.
NEBOSH Fire Certificate, Fire Risk Assessor qualification (e.g. IFE, IFSM, FRACS, or similar) preferred.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Full UK Driving Licence
