Job Description
Are you an analytically minded professional with an interest in flat roofing systems and building design? We’re recruiting on behalf of a building materials manufactuer who are looking for a Flat Roof Technician to join their well-established, forward-thinking technical team based in Ipswich.
About the Role
As a key part of the technical department, you’ll be responsible for reviewing specifications, drawings and survey reports to ensure accuracy, compatibility, and compliance. The role involves producing and checking technical documentation, detail drawings, and performing calculations related to drainage, thermal performance, and wind loads.
Full training will be provided, making this a fantastic opportunity to grow your expertise in a specialist field.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse incoming technical specifications and survey reports
Produce and review technical calculations and detail drawings
Ensure compatibility and compliance of waterproofing systems
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including technical sales managers
Stay informed on industry codes of practice and building regulations
Provide technical advice and general support within the department
Requirements
Strong technical understanding and eye for detail
Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
Computer literacy and ideally some CAD experience
Knowledge of building fabric and waterproofing systems (advantageous)
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
A team-oriented, proactive, and motivated approach
