Flat Roofing Estimator – Commercial Roofing

Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: In person / site visits as required

The Company

Our client is a well-established and highly respected pitched and flat roofing contractor, with over 70 years of successful trading. Working across the commercial, industrial and public sectors, they are approved contractors for leading manufacturers including Sika, Protan, Bauder, Garland UK, IKO, BMI Icopal and Langley.

Due to continued growth and an upcoming retirement within the estimating team, they are looking to appoint an experienced Flat Roofing Estimator.

The Role

You will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive tenders for commercial flat roofing projects, managing the process from initial enquiry through to contract award and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  * Preparing detailed estimates and competitive tender submissions.

  * Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.

  * Completing material take-offs and cost analysis.

  * Carrying out roof and site surveys where required.

  * Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations.

  * Managing multiple tenders and working to tight deadlines.

  * Liaising with clients, architects, consultants and main contractors.

  * Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.

  * Providing a smooth handover to the contracts team following successful bids.

Candidate Requirements

  * Minimum 3 years' experience as an Estimator, Project Manager or Contracts Manager within the UK construction industry.

  * Roofing estimating experience is highly desirable.

  * Good knowledge of commercial flat roofing systems, including single-ply, liquid waterproofing, hot melt and built-up felt.

  * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  * Strong commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.

  * Confident communicator with good organisational skills.

  * IT literate, including Microsoft Office.

  * Able and willing to carry out roof surveys and site visits.

  * Full UK driving licence.
