GREENFORD
SALARY UP TO £40,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
Job Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fleet Manager to oversee the fleet operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the fleet across various service centres, ensuring that all vehicles are maintained, compliant, and operating efficiently. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent organisational skills, and a keen understanding of fleet management practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all vehicles, across various delivery centres, trailers, and drivers operate in full compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
* Liaise with office managers and insurance company regarding accidents and claims.
* Assist transport company in providing evidence for FORS audits / Management of O Licence documentation and oversee all amendments and updates / Investigating Infringements
* Conduct driver licence checks and eyesight checks.
* Continuously evaluate and improve procedures to ensure full legal compliance.
* Monitor fuel usage and implement strategies to reduce costs.
* Coordinate vehicle acquisitions, disposals, and replacements in line with company needs.
* Oversee scheduled maintenance and repairs of 50+ vehicles & trailers and Yard use items e.g. Forklifts/Telehandlers/Excavators /Trailers, Organising R&M (Repair and Maintenance) contracts with main dealers.
* Work closely with the Workshop Managers to ensure timely, efficient maintenance; ensuring all maintenance is planned to avoid operational disruption.
* Coordinate breakdown recovery and repairs, including managing out-of-hours callouts.
* Communicate and coordinate with the other depots for all repairs, maintenance and compliance matters.
* A flexible approach to working hours is essential to meet the demands of this role.

Requirements & Qualifications
* Strong working knowledge of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations.
* Sound knowledge of fleet and transport legislation and health and safety regulations.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Transport/Fleet Manager role.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Physically fit and able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A valid driving licence is required; additional qualifications in logistics or transport management are advantageous.
Hours of Work: 8.30 to 17.30 – Monday to Friday
