Flexographic Printer
Crewe
Salary: DOE
Hours; 7am-7pm, 7pm-7am (3 shifts of days and 3 shifts of nights - Start Sunday and finish Friday)
Overview:
For all matters relating to press production, efficiency, quality and on press personnel including the management and efficient utilisation of press crews. Liaising with the on Print Manager on all matters of production and quality control.

Main Responsibilities:
Operating presses to print jobs efficiently and to the highest possible standard.
Tasks including: setting up jobs, mixing inks, colour matching, wash ups, loading material.
Responsible for other members of the machine crews and trainees where relevant. Jointly responsible for the overall H&S of employees within the immediate vicinity of the Pressroom department.
Ensuring you and your crew comply with Company Policies and hygiene regulations.
In the absence of a shift Manager you will approve and sign off your own work.
As a printer you are expected to be self-reliant, able to take decisions quickly on your own behalf, and to distinguish situations where problems should be referred to your manager.
Ensuring efficient organisation and make-readies are planned and performed for every job within the recommended/specified make ready time and within the allowance for spoilage.
Ensuring the best quality of product is achieved and maintained and the running speed is maximised for the job format.
Mixing ink formulas & recipes.
You will also instruct and supervise employees within your crew to perform certain tasks, when a machine is down and the crews 'on the run' duties have been interrupted. These will include giving instructions on cleaning and maintaining the machines and ancillary equipment and surrounding areas.
Skills and Attributes:
Preferably have previous experience of running Combiflex and/ or Koenig & Bauer presses
Would consider someone who has run a similar flexographic printing machine
Self motivated with an ability to work on their own
An excellent communicator together with organizational and analytical skill
Analytical and problem solving skills
