Flights Manager
This leading specialist tour operator is seeking a commercially astute and experienced Flights Manager to oversee all flight buying and seat management across its portfolio of niche travel brands. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing team, working across a diverse range of culturally rich and interest-led travel experiences. Salary up to £45,000, hybrid working preferred but fully remote (UK only) also considered for experienced candidates, along with part time.
Flights Manager – Role & Responsibilities:
Oversee all flight buying for group travel
Lead and optimise the performance of the flights team
Quote and book group flights, ensuring alignment with budget targets
Maintain and update internal systems with the latest flight arrangements
Liaise with product teams to communicate flight schedules, route options, and budget parameters
Collaborate with Finance to manage flight payments, deposits, balances, and ticketing deadlines
Respond to any aviation crisis or disruption, ensuring appropriate action is taken
Research new flight routes and provide pricing for upcoming programmes
Stay up to date with airline terms and conditions, managing allocations and refunds as needed
Flights Manager – Skills & Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar flights Manager / Aviation Manager / Air Product or Air Operations Manager role
Strong understanding of airline contracts and fare types (IT, seat-only, published)
Knowledge of IATA/BSP ticketing procedures
GDS proficiency, preferably Amadeus.
Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
Highly organised with strong planning, analytical, and numerical abilities
Confident team leader with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver under pressure
