Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for two permanent part time Floating Support Workers, to work in the Wandsworth area. The service provides floating support to adults with drug and/or alcohol dependence or abstinence living in the community or transitioning between different types of accommodation. The service supports service users to maintain their tenancies, reduce harm and improve wellbeing.
The successful candidates will be required to work 14 hours (2 days) per week, working between Monday - Friday, 9AM - 4:30PM. This is a permanent role. The annual salary is £29,934 per annum (pro rata).
Please note; you'll mainly be based in Wandsworth but travel to Richmond may also be required. This role is based on-site at one of the supported housing projects. Visits outside the site are only carried out when necessary.
In this position, you will responsible for:
* Supporting residents living in supported housing, temporary accommodation or in the community
* Providing practical and emotional support to service users with substance dependence
* Carrying out needs and risk assessments and developing simple, person-centred support plans
* Supporting clients with tenancy-related matters, budgeting, daily living skills and accessing treatment or healthcare services
* Helping clients transition between temporary, supported and independent housing
* Working with other agencies including housing, health and social services to provide joined-up support
* Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of support provided
* Reporting any safeguarding concerns and following the organisations safeguarding procedures

To apply for this role, you must have:
* Experience supporting people with substance dependence
* Experience working in supported housing, housing-related support or community outreach
* Good understanding of harm reduction, housing issues and recovery support
* Ability to build trust and motivate people to work towards change
* Knowledge of mental health
* Effective communication and organisational skills along with IT skills and the ability to use administrative and case management tools
* Experience of Adult Safeguarding
* Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team and to meet targets & deadlines
* Organised, reliable and confident working independently
* Desirable: Relevant qualification in health and social care or recovery support
* Desirable: Naloxone Training
