Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Floor Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation and be proficient in using various tools and techniques to ensure high-quality finishes. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
Measure and cut flooring materials to fit designated areas accurately.
Install various types of flooring, including carpet, vinyl, laminate, and hardwood.
Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and repairing as necessary.
Use power tools and hand tools effectively to complete installations.
Follow schematics and project specifications to ensure proper installation techniques.
Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters and painters, to achieve the desired results.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the installation process.
Skills
Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to flooring installation.
Strong understanding of building techniques and materials used in flooring applications.
Ability to read and interpret schematics for accurate installation.
Experience in carpentry or related fields is advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality workmanship.
Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.Requirements
Must be able to show 5 years worth of references (even if not relevant to the vacant role).
Must not have been out of the country for more than 28 days at one time.
CSCS Card is required.
