Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled FLT Driver on behalf of our client based in the outskirts of York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, including materials handling, shipping, and receiving.
This role is Monday to Friday 6am-2pm/2- 10pm on a rotating shift pattern basis, paying £14.71ph.
Please note that due to the location of the company, your own transport is required.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate a forklift to transport goods to designated locations.
* Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling techniques are used to prevent damage.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including shipping documents and logs.
* Assist in warehouse operations as needed.
* Utilise the warehouse management system for tracking shipments and inventory levels.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the warehouse environment.
* Perform heavy lifting as required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements
* Valid driving licence.
* Experience operating forklifts with a valid counterbalance licence.
* Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic maths skills for inventory tracking.
* Ability to perform materials handling tasks effectively, including loading and unloading heavy items.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and record keeping.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
