Job Description
FLT Operative
Location: Mildenhall, Suffolk
Pay: £12.21 - £13.00 per hour
Contract: Temp-to-Perm (12-week trial period)
Immediate Start Available
We are looking for a reliable FLT Operative to join a busy and well-established company in Mildenhall.
You'll be responsible for preparing, moving, and maintaining equipment safely and efficiently. A valid FLT (Counterbalance) licence and full UK driving licence are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare equipment for hire, ensuring high levels of maintenance and readiness.
Operate counterbalance or multi-directional forklifts to load/unload vehicles, move, prepare, and store equipment (FLT licenses are highly advantageous).
Accurately pick, return, and scan equipment, identifying stock overages or shortages.
Safely load and unload equipment, ensuring proper handling and storage.
Clean equipment using a pressure washer.
Inspect, service, and repair hire equipment and depot assets in line with company standards.
Utilize pneumatic/electrical hand tools (full in-house training provided).
Maintain up-to-date and accurate service/inspection records.
Occasionally drive the depot van as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
A valid, full, clean driving licence
A valid FLT (counterbalance) licences
Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete records and paperwork.
Familiarity with the construction, housing, or civil engineering industry is advantageous.
Proficient in using scanners, PDAs, tablets, and computers.
A reasonable level of fitness is required.
Knowledge of the shoring or hire industry is a plus.
Additional Information:
Full in-house training on the equipment and products will be provided.
You will be supported by a dynamic and friendly team.
