Production Operative
Location: Kent
Salary: Approximately £33,150 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm
About the Role
An established and growing food manufacturing business is seeking a Production Operative to join its production team. This is a varied, hands-on role offering full training and the opportunity to gain experience across multiple areas of a food production operation.
The successful candidate will support daily manufacturing and warehouse activities, including ingredient preparation, production processes, packing, labelling, and order fulfilment. The role requires a strong attention to detail, commitment to quality standards, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure products meet quality and customer specifications.
Support production targets and customer delivery deadlines.
Operate machinery safely and in accordance with procedures.
Weigh and mix ingredients accurately to prescribed recipes.
Assist with filling, sealing, and labelling products.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and housekeeping throughout the production environment.
Pick, pack, label, and palletise customer orders ready for dispatch.
Complete production and quality documentation accurately and on time.
Follow established quality management and food safety procedures.
Monitor and record critical control points where required.
Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Provide support across departments to ensure smooth operational performance.
Assist in the training and onboarding of new team members when required.Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or food production environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Understanding of health, safety, quality, and food hygiene standards would be advantageous.
Ability to work within a fast-paced production environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Team-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
