Blue Arrow are looking for a new member to join their Food Safety & Technical team.
Our Client supply food ingredients to manufacturers. They are passionate about providing the best products and service to their customers in a rapid and innovative industry.
Working within a busy office you will report to the Managing Director and will support in all areas of Quality, Safety and Legality within the business.
Your goal will be to help ensure that products meet customer expectations and ensure that Food Safety, Legality and Integrity is maintained.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
To assist in maintaining the Quality Manual and systems to the required BRCGS and customer standards.
To liaise with customers and suppliers regarding any quality or food safety issues.
To approve, manage & maintain suppliers and service providers.
To liaise with the supply base to ensure compliance with supplier approval criteria.
To work with Procurement and Sales ensuring that all product meets the required standards.
To ensure internal, second-party, and third-party audits are managed effectively.
To support the HACCP team, including carrying out reviews, updating risk assessments, hazard analysis and product flows.
To deal with customer complaints and non-conformances in a timely manner, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and monitored.
To address any issues that may impact the safety, authenticity, legality, or quality of goods, as applicable.
Completion and updating of the customer specifications.
Managing traceability throughout the supply chain.
To oversee and manage the training schedule, ensuring timely delivery of training for staff.
To work with staff to promote a positive food safety culture.
Essential requirements:
Clean UK/EU driving license.
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working in a Quality / Technical role and/or a Third level qualification Degree or HNC/D in a relevant food related discipline or proven relevant experience.
Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet deadlines.
Strong IT skills and an ability to record and present information in a concise format.
The ability to work well under pressure and to play your role in a busy team environment.
Excellent communicator with positive leadership skills · Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
Desirable requirements:
HACCP Level 3
Food Safety Level 3
Auditing Level 3
Root Cause Analysis Training
Experience of online specification systems e.g. Foods Connected
