Are you a passionate and resilient Food Technology and Design & Technology teacher looking to make a real difference in young people's lives? Do you have the skills and dedication to inspire students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs through engaging, practical learning? Tradewind Recruitment have an exciting Food Tech and DT Teacher position available at a specialist SEMH school in Enfield, North London. This is a long-term, full-time role offering competitive daily rates of £194 - £258, providing the opportunity to build a rewarding career while supporting vulnerable learners to develop valuable life skills and reach their full potential.
As a Food Tech and DT Teacher you will be responsible for the below:
Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology and Design & Technology lessons to students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
Adapting curriculum content and teaching methods to meet diverse emotional, behavioural and learning needs
Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment where students can develop practical skills and build confidence
Using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to support students who may display challenging behaviour
Assessing student progress and maintaining accurate records in line with school policies and EHCP targets
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, SENCOs and external professionals including educational psychologists and mental health practitionersTo join us and be successful in this role you will ideally need:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Strong subject knowledge in Food Technology and Design & Technology
Experience or genuine enthusiasm for working with students who face social, emotional and behavioural challenges
Patience, empathy and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people
Excellent classroom management skills and ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations
Creativity and flexibility in adapting lessons to engage students with complex needs
Current Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (where applicable) and satisfactory professional references
Complete CV detailing employment history for the previous 10 years where available
