Recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Bexley - TimePlan Education
TimePlan Education is currently seeking a dedicated and well-organised Design & Technology Technician to join a supportive secondary school in Bexley from September 2025. This role will predominantly be based within the Food Technology department.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching staff by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for practical lessons. Although the focus will be on Food Technology, there may be occasional support required across the wider DT department.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing ingredients, materials, and equipment for Food Technology lessons
* Assisting teachers during practical sessions and demonstrations
* Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment in line with food hygiene and health & safety regulations
* Monitoring stock levels and placing orders where necessary
* Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and food hygiene standards
* Supporting general departmental tasks as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Previous experience in a technician role or working within a school food technology or DT setting
* A good understanding of food hygiene, health & safety, and COSHH regulations
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* A flexible and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning
* An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through TimePlan)
