TeacherActive are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher/Instructor to join a specialized SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) setting in Essex starting September 2025.
About the Role:
Deliver engaging Food Technology lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs
Support and motivate students to develop practical cooking skills and a love for healthy eating
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional development
Collaborate with a dedicated team of educators and support staff to meet individual student needs
Adapt teaching strategies to ensure all students can access the curriculum effectively
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in Food Technology or related subject
Experience working with students with SEMH needs is desirable but not essential — training will be provided
Passionate about making a difference in students’ lives through education
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Ability to adapt to a variety of learning needs and environments
