Food Technology Teacher – Secondary School (Totton, Southampton) Start Date: October 2025 Contract: Maternity Cover (until July 2026) Pay: £165 – £245 per day (depending on experience) Hours: Full-Time, 8:00am – 4:00pm Location: Totton area, Southampton Are you passionate about Food Technology and looking for your next teaching opportunity? Supply Desk is excited to be working with a welcoming secondary school near Totton, Southampton, who are seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join their team from October 2025. This maternity cover will run until July 2026, teaching across KS3 and KS4. You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive Design & Technology department, where creativity, practical learning, and inspiring students are at the heart of everything they do. Whether you’re an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced teacher, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact. What You’ll Be Doing: Delivering engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4. Inspiring students to develop essential cooking skills, healthy eating habits, and a genuine love of food. Tracking and supporting student progress with constructive feedback. Playing an active role in curriculum development and the growth of the department. Maintaining high standards for learning, behaviour, and achievement. About the School: A mixed 11–16 secondary school in the Totton area of Southampton. Rated “Good” by Ofsted (2022), praised for its inclusive culture and positive ethos. A supportive Senior Leadership Team with a strong focus on staff wellbeing and career development. Easily accessible with great transport links. What We’re Looking For: A degree in Food Technology, Design & Technology, or a related subject. QTS (or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification). Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage young learners.
