Forge Press Team Leader
Sheffield
Up to £18.59/hr + 17% Shift Allowance (3 Shift Cover)
(60/40 Hands-On vs Leadership)
We’re seeking an experienced Forge Press Operative / Team Leader to join a well-established manufacturing business in Sheffield. This role involves both hands-on production work (60%) and team leadership responsibilities (40%), supporting press operations and ensuring safe, high-quality output in a fast-paced forging environment.
The Role
* Set up, operate, and maintain forging presses (including 5600T, 1500T, and 600T)
* Oversee furnace and forge management, pyrometry checks, and die/tooling build
* Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure product quality
* Perform pre-shift and preventative maintenance checks (FLT, hoist, crane, etc.)
* Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards (5S)
* Lead and support team members across multiple roles within the cell
About You
* Background in forging, pressing, or heavy manufacturing
* Confident operating large industrial machinery and computer control systems
* Strong communicator with some leadership experience
* Organised, methodical, and able to work with minimal supervision
* Flexible and motivated, with a proactive, team-focused approach
* Able to interpret technical drawings and use measuring equipment (training provided)
