Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload goods within our warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed.
Responsibilities
* Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
* Load and unload materials from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
* Manage inventory by accurately tracking items using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
* Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying the accuracy of shipments against documentation.
* Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues for repair.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the warehouse.
Skills
* Strong mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and equipment repair.
* Experience in shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse setting.
* Proficient in materials handling techniques, ensuring safe lifting practices.
* Basic maths skills for accurate counting and inventory management.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
