Forklift Maintenance Engineer (Material Handling Equipment) – Portsmouth, Hampshire

Are you an experienced Forklift or MHE engineer or fitter looking to advance your skills in maintaining material handling equipment? Do you want to develop expertise on mobile harbour cranes in a dynamic port environment?

Join a leading port operation based in Portsmouth, where you’ll work with a supportive team and gain valuable hands-on experience with cranes and other equipment.

Have you worked for ABP, Associated British Ports, DP World, or in a forklift or plant business before? Then this could be the perfect role for you!

What we offer:

  * £38,000 to £40,000 per year (£730 to £770 per week) plus £220 weekly on-call standby payment (1 in 4 rota)

  * Overtime at time and a half

  * Company van provided from day one for on-call duties

Key Requirements:

  * Recognised engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

  * Experience in material handling equipment maintenance and servicing

  * Understanding of LOLER regulations and health & safety compliance

  * Relevant inspection certifications (IPAF, CPCS or similar)

  * Willingness to join on-call rota and work flexible hours

  * Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
