About the Role:
Bury Council Children's Services are seeking an experienced Fostering Social Worker to undertake kinship and general fostering assessments. This role is ideal for a social worker with significant experience in Regulation 24 reports, viability assessments, full kinship assessments, SGO assessments (Form K), and general mainstream fostering assessments. You will work within statutory timescales and deliver high-quality, robust assessments to support children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete kinship assessments, including Regulation 24, viability assessments, and SGO assessments using Form K.
Conduct general mainstream fostering assessments accurately and within directed timescales.
Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to support placement decisions.
Maintain up-to-date case records and ensure compliance with statutory guidance.
Work collaboratively with children, families, and multi-agency partners to safeguard and support children.
Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and continuous professional development.
Attend office for your duty day each week, with flexibility for remote working and assessment write-ups.Essential Skills & Experience:
Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
Significant experience completing kinship and mainstream fostering assessments.
Strong knowledge of fostering legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding procedures.
Excellent assessment, report writing, and analytical skills.
