Job Description
Established manufacturing organisation seeks an experienced FPI Operator for immediate start. Permanent Contracts offered, varying shifts available, competitive rates of pay and progression opportunities provided.
As an FPI Operator, you’ll join a fast-paced, forward-thinking team responsible for inspecting components using Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) techniques. Your work will help identify surface defects such as cracks and porosity—critical to ensuring flight safety. Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is essential.
FPI Operator Duties:
* Apply the correct FPI process, which involves applying a fluorescent dye, rinsing, developing and inspecting under a black light to find surface flaws
* Detect various surface discontinuities, including cracks, pores and laps, in parts made from non-porous materials
* Adhere to strict industry standards and procedures, such as those for high-energy rotating components, to ensure the integrity of critical parts
* Record inspection findings and maintain accurate records for quality assurance and traceability
* Understand and operate the specialized FPI equipment and ensure it is calibrated and functioning correctly
Skills/Experience required for the role of FPI Operator:
* Previous experience within a similar role and manufacturing environment (ideally aerospace/automotive)
* Experience of applying FPI processes
* High attention to detail
* Safety awareness
* Team working
* Flexible in attitude – prepared to undertake any associated tasks as required
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Various Shifts Available
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Contract: Permanent
