Job Description

SW-007-FRA-Surv-180 FRA Surveyor (Fire Safety) £25.50 - £34 per hour Long-term contract (6 months) Based in Notting Hill Working directly for a Housing Association Role Overview ITS Property Maintenance are working with a leading maintenance contractor delivering fire safety projects across social housing stock in London. We’re seeking an experienced FRA Surveyor / Fire Project Surveyor to carry out inspections, produce detailed specifications for remedial works, and ensure fire safety compliance across tenanted and void properties. You’ll work closely with the Fire Safety Delivery Team and contractors to deliver a high-quality, compliant, and efficient service covering fire doors, fire stopping, and compartmentation upgrades. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing compliance team delivering tangible improvements in building safety and resident protection. Key Responsibilities * Carry out on-site fire safety inspections in accordance with current regulations and organisational procedures * Lead on fire remedial works following FRA recommendations, producing clear specifications and ensuring works are completed to a high standard * Manage and monitor contractors and internal operatives delivering fire safety works * Conduct pre and post inspections for fire doors, fire stopping, and compartmentation works * Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Building Safety Act, and Fire Safety Order 2005 * Work collaboratively with the Fire Safety Manager and other internal departments to improve processes and ensure project delivery * Provide technical advice on fire-related issues, identifying risks and proposing proportionate solutions * Maintain accurate compliance records and contribute to audit readiness Required Skills & Experience * Level 3 or above qualification in Fire Safety or Building Surveying (e.g. IFE, NEBOSH Fire, Fire Risk Assessment) * Strong technical understanding of fire safety legislation, BS 8214, Approved Document B, and related guidance * Proven experience delivering or surveying fire safety works within social housing, local authority, or FM environments * Excellent communication and report-writing skills * Ability to work independently, managing multiple sites and priorities * Full UK driving license and ability to travel between sites using public transport What’s on Offer * Competitive rate of pay with long-term work available * Opportunity to work on high-profile fire safety and compliance programmes * Supportive management team with focus on professional development * Chance to make a genuine impact improving resident safety Ideal Candidate If you have experience as an FRA Surveyor, Fire Door Surveyor, or Fire Safety Project Surveyor within social housing, we’d love to hear from you.
