This is an excellent opportunity to join our highly established, professional, friendly and very reputable global based client as they seek to recruit a Freight and Logistics Specialist to join their team within their distribution centre in Walsall, West Midlands.

Freight and Logistics Specialist
Full time permanent role - Mon-Fri (Apply online only) - hybrid role with 3 days based in the offices and 2 days working from home per week
Office based in Walsall with parking available on site for all staff. Due to business park working location, it is best to be a driver with your own transport
Salary £38000-£40000 per annum. Excellent all round company benefits
The role will involve some occasional UK travel (fully expensed)

The role - Freight and Logistics Specialist
This role involves dealing with all aspects of freight, Imports, Exports, ROW, EU and UK domestic. All modes of transport.
The role - duties and responsibilities
Arranging and administering Sea and Air Freight
Dealing with Imports, Exports, Courier, customs clearance,
Booking collections and deliveries, worldwide, EU and UK.
Good understanding of carrier portals.
Managing KPI’s and carrier performance.
Good understanding of Excel.
Negotiating freight rates, invoice approvals, day to day operations and general troubleshooting
Experience, competencies and knowledge required:
Great communication skills
Good freight / shipping knowledge
Good Microsoft Excel skills
Strong levels of attention to detail
Customs tariffs and Customs entries knowledge
Courier portal booking and reporting knowledge
Knowledge of freight forwarders
Physically fit, as moving some products may be required
