Freight Operator
Burton-Upon-Trent
Full time, Permanent
Mon – Fri Days
Salary: £28,000
20 days hol + BH (1 extra day per year of service)
Our highly successful European Transport & Logistics client is seeking an experienced Freight Operator to join them on a full time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Operations Manager with the aim of providing solutions using the company internal network that match the Operational expectations of their clients.
Role Specific Tasks
Order/Receipt Creation
* To receive Customer orders via different means ie Telephone, Facsimile, E-mail and Customer specific Transport portals
* To accurately create orders via our own operating system.
* To match the above with FTC specifics
Operational Solution Management
* To match the order to a resource solution using our network of Transport Suppliers through utilisation of our Supplier selection rules.
* To communicate in a timely and professional manner to clients, to include the schedule for collection and delivery, delays or issues. Paying special attention to any specific requirements such as, but not limited to, opening times, on site safety requirements, driver PPE, transit time, adr requirement, customs requirements and security procedures.
* To report any non-conformance directly to the Operations Manager (OMTS) and the Branch Manager TS (BMTS)
Administration
* To provide bespoke key performance indicators to specific clients.
* Monitor the profitability of the activity in conjunction with the OMTS
* Provide the D, BM, OM & BDMs a weekly customer service report
* To ensure that Tra+ inputs match both the client & supplier expectations on the agreements placed, inclusive of any additional charges
Commercial
* To attend client meetings upon the request and agreement of the OMTS / BMTS / Director TS (DTS)
* To actively chase clients for additional businessBefore You Apply
