About the Role:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated French Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Gravesend for a September 2025 start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and contribute to the development of the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department.
As a French Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will create a dynamic and engaging learning environment, helping students to develop both their linguistic skills and a deeper understanding of French culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging French lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 teaching available for the right candidate)
Encourage and inspire students to develop a love for the French language
Provide feedback and support to students to help them achieve their academic potential
Contribute to extracurricular activities, such as language clubs and cultural trips
Collaborate with colleagues in the MFL department to share best practices and enhance the curriculum
Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff
Participate in school events and contribute to the school's ethos and communityThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A degree in French or a related subject
A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
Experience teaching French at Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential)
Strong classroom management skills
A passion for teaching and a commitment to student progress
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
