Aqua-Tech Recruitment are currently seeking a motivated and dedicated Aquaculture Technician to join our client's team, supporting the day-to-day operations of their freshwater/broodstock site.
This hands-on role is vital in ensuring the highest standards of fish husbandry, health and welfare, site biosecurity, and environmental stewardship. The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Manager and wider team to meet production targets while upholding health and safety standards.

Fish Husbandry & Welfare

Handle fish during routine operations, identifying and addressing signs of stress
*
Maintain high welfare standards across all activities
*
Carry out key husbandry tasks: grading, vaccination, transfers, stocking, ova disinfection, and monitoring environmental parameters
*
Perform specialist tasks: salt testing, ATPase sampling, salt dosing, and programming counters
*
Respond effectively to alarms and emergencies
Fish Health
*
Maintain and enforce site biosecurity protocols
*
Collect, prepare, and analyse health samples
*
Diagnose and treat fish health issues
Environmental Stewardship
*
Monitor, measure, and record environmental conditions
