Work for a charity in Wimbledon a Fundraising Officer/Business Development Officer (permanent, hybrid, 3 days on site, £37,266 per annum).
Role Purpose
Support organisations day-to-day Trusts and Foundations activities.
Support on grant and tender applications with Corporate, Community and Local Authorities to achieve our fundraising targets.
Contribute towards wider organisational applications for new business.
Work alongside other members of the communication and fundraising team to help achieve targets.
Write and submit trust and grant foundation applications to increase services offers.
Keep abreast of news across the charity, housing and care sectors, identifying opportunities for partnership and the expansion of our charitable activities.
Work with the Communications and Fundraising Manager to develop and implement development strategies to support our operational aims meet our income generation targets.
In collaboration with the Communications and Fundraising Manager identify, build and maintain long-term relationships with trust and grant holders that generate income, yield pro-bono support and support our services.
Support our grant and tendering portals, recommending opportunities for new business to the Senior Management Team.
Represent organisation in public, tell our residents stories in a compassionate way, and educate and inform others around the impact we make on people's lives.
Support the fundraising team to manage a portfolio of fundraising events, such as the 'Winter Appeal' and challenge events.
Develop relationships with corporate, business and other community partners.
Use research and data to improve knowledge and enhance bids.
Work with service and senior managers to develop projects and ideas that build opportunities for customers and improve our services.
Ensure all financial transactions are completed within fundraising guidelines.
Support the wider communications activities of the organisation, including taking a lead where required, including preparing communications for internal and external audiences.
What we look for
Excellent track record of successful trust and foundation applications.
Track record of partnership building to achieve organisational fundraising targets.
Understanding of key issues facing vulnerable people or those with similar needs.
In depth knowledge of charity fundraising practices.
