Galvanising Operative
Location: Sittingbourne
Pay: £15.01 per hour
Hours: 10:00pm – 6:00am
Contract: Temp to Perm
Morgan Jones is currently recruiting for a Galvanising Operative to join a busy and established manufacturing operation in Sittingbourne.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, is comfortable working in an industrial environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
No previous galvanising experience is required, as full training will be provided. For the right candidate, there is a genuine opportunity to move into a permanent position following a successful temporary period.
The Role
Working as part of the production team, you will be responsible for preparing steel products for the hot-dip galvanising process and ensuring materials are handled safely and correctly throughout production.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing steel products by hanging and securing them onto jigs
* Ensuring materials are correctly positioned ready for galvanising
* Safely handling and manoeuvring heavy steel components
* Using lifting equipment and overhead cranes where required
* Inspecting products before and after the galvanising process
* Identifying and reporting any defects or quality issues
* Operating workshop machinery and equipment safely
* Working towards daily production and quality targets
* Following all health and safety procedures
* Carrying out general manual handling duties
* Keeping the production area clean, organised and safe
* Working closely with colleagues to maintain an efficient production process
About You
Previous experience within manufacturing, production, assembly or another practical environment would be beneficial, but full training is available for candidates with the right attitude and work ethic.
We're looking for someone who is:
* Comfortable with physical and manual work
* Reliable, punctual and hardworking
* Able to work safely in a busy industrial environment
* Confident following instructions and production processes
* Detail-oriented with a good approach to quality
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
* Willing to learn new skills and processes
* Available to work the 10:00pm – 6:00am night shift
