Job Description
♂️ Ganger Required – Civil Works Project (Short-Term)
📍 Location: Central Scotland
📆 Duration: Initial 2–3 months, potential for extension
💷 Rate: Competitive – DOE
🕒 Start Date: ASAP
We’re currently looking to recruit an experienced Ganger to lead a small team on a utilities-based civil engineering project. This is a hands-on role with initial work expected to last a couple of months, with potential for ongoing work depending on project progress.
Key Responsibilities Include:
🔹 Site Survey & Planning
Conduct initial site assessments
Identify and mark out underground services
Assist the Project Manager with utilities liaison prior to excavation
🔹 Excavation & Trenching
Excavate trenches for ducting and cable routes
Prepare bedding layers and foundations
Backfill and dispose of materials safely
🔹 Ductwork Installation
Install underground electrical conduits/ducts
Ensure correct joining, support, and alignment
Fit protective bends, junctions, and inspection chambers
🔹 Feeder Pillar & Charger Base Installation
Prepare and install concrete bases and foundation slabs for EV infrastructure
Ensure proper curing, alignment, and finish
🔹 Cable & Conduit Management
Pull cables through ducting
Secure within conduits and trunks
🔹 Reinstatement & Surface Restoration
Restore soft and hard landscaping post-installation
Reinstate monoblock, tarmac, and concrete to a high standard
🔹 Final Checks & Handover
Ensure all works meet safety and technical standards
Clean and hand over site in a safe and compliant condition
Requirements:
✅ Proven experience as a Ganger in civils/utilities projects
✅ Ability to read and work from site plans
✅ Experience managing small teams on site
✅ CSCS card (required)
✅ SSSTS or equivalent (preferred)
✅ Full PPE and valid driving licence preferred
