We are very pleased to be partnered with our professional and reputable educational based client as they seek to recruit a full time and permanent Gardener to join their team at their site on the outskirts of Haywards Heath. The role is based upon 42.5 hours per week Mon-Fri (Apply online only) with overtime available

Monday - Friday 42.5 hours per week - overtime available
Role based on the outskirts of Haywards Heath. Due to rural and unique workplace location, it is essential to be a driver and have your own transport. Plenty of free parking on site for all staff.
Salary - £29164 per annum plus very good all round company benefits, including free lunches and an excellent pension scheme. This role is subject to DBS clearance.

Purpose of the role:
The Gardener role encompasses all aspects of grounds maintenance and requires a close working relationship with the Head of Grounds and Site Security, along with other members of the Estate team. The role needs flexibility and attention to detail together with energy and enthusiasm and the willingness to go the extra mile.
Duties will include:
Care for the plants, shrubs and trees around site and ensure seasonal planting of bulbs and flowers to facilitate attractive grounds.
Water and feed flowerbeds and turf areas, including operation of irrigation systems where applicable
Safely and competently operate strimmer’s, hedge cutters, lawnmowers, other horticultural machinery, once suitable training has been completed.
Maintain and safeguard tools and machinery as are provided in a safe, and effective condition.
Area maintenance to include leaf and litter clearance, hedge trimming, grass cutting, mulching, scrub clearance, weeding and general cleaning.
Assist with setting up events on the sports fields.
To be willing to drive all school vehicles including minibuses. To attend relevant minibus driving training
Provide support to School events
Assist with the disposal of tree litter and plant material around the site.
Assist with keeping all paths and drives clear of debris and mud and their general upkeep.
Assist with the clearance of snow and path gritting during periods of icy weather.
Adhere to safeguarding policies at all times.
Attend personal development, safety, and technical skills and proficiency training
