Gate Automation Engineer – Midlands
£35,000 – £38,000 + Overtime
Monday – Friday

Our Midlands-based Gate & Access Control client is looking for an experienced Gate Automation Engineer to join their growing team.
This is a field-based role, mainly covering the Midlands, with weekly visits to the Leicester head office to replenish stock and collect equipment.
We’re looking for candidates with proven experience in gate automation systems and access control. Welding experience would be a bonus. The role involves installations, retrofits, safety upgrades, servicing, fault finding, and maintenance — so hands-on experience is essential. There’s also some groundworking involved, usually working as part of a two-person team on new installations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Installing, maintaining, and repairing gate automation systems and access control
* Working on new installations, service, maintenance, and fault finding
* Groundworks as part of new system installations
* Dealing directly with customers and residents, maintaining high standards of service
* Completing detailed reports and job updates via tablet
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience with automation systems such as CAME, ROGER, BENINCA, or BFT
* A full UK Driving Licence
* Good knowledge of door entry, access control, or door automation systems
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety in gate automation
* Ability to work independently and responsibly
* Electrical Installation Qualification (advantageous)
* Fluent spoken and written English
What’s On Offer:
* £35,000 – £38,000 salary (dependent on experience)
* Overtime available — weekdays at standard rate, Saturdays at time and a half
