About the Role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a qualified GCSE Maths Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to students currently not in mainstream education or those who require additional afterschool support. Sessions are delivered in the local Bromley area, either during the school day or afterschool.
This role is ideal for a teacher or experienced tutor looking to step away from the traditional classroom setting to deliver engaging, personalised lessons that make a real difference.
Many learners may have gaps in their education and reduced confidence, so the ability to build rapport, motivate, and adapt your teaching approach is key. Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver tailored GCSE Maths lessons on a 1:1 basis.
Re-engage pupils in learning through structure, patience, and creativity.
Track progress and work closely with Prospero's support team to ensure positive outcomes.
Create a safe, supportive environment that encourages academic growth and personal confidence.
Requirements
Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent)
Experience teaching or tutoring in the UK (minimum 6 months)
Experience working with SEN pupils preferred
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Right to work in the UK
Two professional references from the last two years
