Location: Aldershot
Full-Time - Monday-Thursday – 6:30 – 15:15- Friday - 6:00 – 13:00
Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Gear Cutter to join our precision engineering team, supporting the aerospace and automotive sectors. You will operate and set up a variety of machines to manufacture high-specification components from engineering drawings, ensuring all products meet exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities of the Gear Cutter:
* Set up machines and prepare materials/tooling for upcoming jobs
* Load and run CNC gear cutting programs
* Ensure proper clamping and secure loading of components
* Change machine settings between jobs within defined timeframes
* Perform gear cutting and apply appropriate deburring per design specs
* Read and interpret technical engineering drawings
* Use micrometers, verniers, and inspection equipment to check dimensions
* Operate multiple machines when batch sizes allow
* Conduct in-process inspections to ensure quality and accuracy
* Address technical queries when required
* Support team members and contribute to a smooth workflow
* Comply with company quality systems and health & safety policies
* Report issues to your supervisor or manager promptly
* Maintain punctuality and a professional attitude at all times
What We’re Looking for in a Gear Cutter:
* 3–5 years’ experience in a similar precision manufacturing role
* Proficiency in using measuring tools and inspection equipment
* Strong math, technical, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to follow complex engineering drawings
* Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
* A quick learner with adaptability to changing requirements
* Proactive, reliable, and an excellent team player
