General Builder / General Maintenance Operative

Location: Reading
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday (flexibility required)
Salary: Competitive, with additional payments for on-call dutiesJoin our Clients Maintenance team as a General Builder / General Maintenance Operative, where you will be integral in maintaining the structural integrity and functionality of a diverse property portfolio. This role is ideal for a skilled individual with a background in building trades and a proactive approach to both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Work independently or with maintenance teams to diagnose and repair faults in building services or fabric.
Carry out routine reactive and preventative maintenance tasks
Perform basic plumbing and carpentry maintenance tasks
Conduct minor repairs to roofing, guttering, pavements, and masonry.
Support the excavation and repair of drainage pipework or burst water mains, following safety protocols.
Install concrete or wooden ramps including associated handrails, ensuring compliance with listed building regulations.
Use MEWPs, cherry pickers, or scaffolding to safely access work areas, maintaining barriers and signage for safety.
Maintain accurate documentation and records using the CAFM system.Required Skills & Qualifications:

Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent in a relevant trade.
Relevant NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications.
Experience in building maintenance within a reactive and preventative maintenance environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management and organisational skills.
Proficiency in using tablets and other digital devices for job tracking and documentation.
Good communication skills with a client-facing attitude.
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.Benefits:
