General Cover Teacher Job Title: General Cover Teacher - Specialist Secondary Setting Area: Bury, Manchester Start Date: Monday 5th January 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, Long Term Pay rate: £200 - £220 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities) Working hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm Closing date: Friday 12th December 2025 About the Role: We are looking for a General Cover Teacher who is enthusiastic, adaptable, and ready to make a real impact in the lives of autistic learners. In this role, you will provide engaging, well-structured lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring that students continue to make progress even when their regular teachers are absent. You will play a key role in maintaining consistency, offering support, and helping students thrive in a positive learning environment. You will join a dynamic, collaborative team dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering atmosphere for all learners. What We're Looking For: Someone passionate about teaching and supporting students on the autism spectrum Strong communication skills, and the ability to quickly build rapport with students and colleagues Flexible and resilient, with the ability to adapt to the varied needs of the students Have a commitment to learning and development, and a willingness to explore and implement autism-inclusive teaching strategies Demonstrate a holistic approach to student development, focusing not only on academic success but also emotional and social growthTo be eligible you must: Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, BEd) Be eligible to work in the UK Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (if not already registered with the online update service) Provide two professional or academic references If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up-to-date CV.
