General Cover Teachers – Medway Secondary Schools
Qualified or Unqualified Teachers Needed ASAP!
Are you a qualified or unqualified teacher with strong classroom presence and a passion for supporting students across a variety of subjects? Are you looking for flexible, ongoing opportunities in secondary education?
Supply Desk are working in partnership with a number of large, inclusive, and supportive secondary schools in Medway, who are actively seeking regular general cover staff to work across Key Stages 3 and 4.
These schools value consistency, reliability, and a positive attitude, and are eager to build lasting relationships with dedicated supply staff who can contribute to a calm and effective learning environment.
The Role
You’ll be stepping into classes with pre-prepared work, maintaining routines, and supporting students’ learning in the absence of their usual teacher. You may be covering a range of subjects across the week, so a flexible and resilient approach is essential.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering pre-set lessons confidently across various subjects (no planning required)
Managing classroom behaviour using effective, respectful strategies
Engaging students and supporting their progress
Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
Reporting on student engagement and behaviour as required
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from:
Qualified teachers (QTS or QTLS)
Unqualified teachers with secondary school experience
Cover Supervisors or graduates with strong subject knowledge and classroom confidence
Essential qualities:
Excellent classroom and behaviour management
Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced school environments
A proactive, dynamic, and calm approach to teaching and learning
Commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing
Ability to build rapport quickly and professionally with staff and students
